CD PressingCD pressing or CD burning is the colloquial name that is given to the process of manufacturing a CD printed with data from an original source recording. CD-ROMs were originally used to store sound recordings but their uses have diversified over time to include data storage of anything, from word documents to .jpgs of photographs. The main use of a CD-ROM however, has always been in digital audio recordings. CD pressing or as it is often referred to as “CD burning” has many different variants, for example one that we offer is CD replication, this is carried out by the use of a “stamper” that is used to imprint the CDs. The stamper is created from a glass master of the CD, and when it imprints the CD it creates pits in the disc, creating unlimited exact replicas of the original master. All of this takes place in a “Pressing Plant” which facilitates the production on millions of discs worldwide every single year. Similar to CD replication is the process of CD duplication, this is where an existing blank CD is pressed or “burnt” to create multiple exact copies. Although similar to replication, it is not as practical on such a large scale, and is usually only carried out for orders of below 500 units. CD pressing is an incredibly effective tool for many different businesses, and individuals, with a huge range of different applications for a business, from being used to create a digital portfolio of catalogue for your business to present to potential customers. We also see a lot of CD pressing being used by many up and coming bands, either producing a CD to sell on their own, or producing a demo to send to record labels. Of course, these are just a couple of applications for CD pressing, with hundreds more applications available to you and your business.
